Bruce Orr

Founder, CEO, Chief Data Scientist of ProNovos

About

Bruce Orr is a construction economist, data scientist, and the Founder & CEO of ProNovos, the Financial Intelligence System designed to protect contractor profits and cash flow. His work is based on a simple belief: contractors deserve a financial system built for the future, not the past.

While accounting systems record history, Bruce’s work focuses on the financial decisions still ahead: predicting margin fade, modeling cash flow needs, and identifying working capital exposure before it impacts the business. The Financial Intelligence System he developed sits above accounting and project management tools, turning cost data, production behavior, schedules, and risk signals into forward-looking financial strategy.

For more than a decade, Bruce has worked across the entire construction finance ecosystem, partnering with Top 100 CPA firms, leading contractors, sureties, capital providers, and technology companies to close the gap between field operations and financial decision-making. His frameworks are used to modernize WIP reporting, forecasting, and working capital management, helping contractors shift from historical reporting to predictive financial intelligence.

Bruce is a recognized voice in construction finance and technology, presenting at national conferences, association events, user groups, and executive leadership sessions. His work has been published and featured by Construction Dive, Construction Business Owner, Dodge Data & Analytics, CFMA, and AEC Business, and he contributes to academic programming including Colorado State University’s Construction Management curriculum.

He has delivered and co-hosted virtual and in-person sessions with Autodesk, Foundation Software, Sage, CBIZ, Grassi, GBQ, Smith + Howard, and REDW, alongside financial institutions such as Viva Capital Funding and partners in surety, bonding, and banking.

Bruce holds ongoing leadership roles in the construction finance community. He serves on the Executive Committee of the Construction Financial Management Association (CFMA), is the former President of the CFMA DEI Committee, and remains active with ABC, CICPAC, and AGC — staying connected to the financial, operational, and technological needs of contractors nationwide.

His mission is to redefine how contractors plan, forecast, and deploy capital by giving them a Financial Intelligence System built to protect profits and cash flow at the project level, where it matters most.
