Meet the Staff: Samantha Lake

Do you have any regrets?
I was in a car accident in 2021, and since then, I haven’t been able to run, so I regret all of the races I have missed due to my injuries.

Do you have children?
No, but I am “Super Auntie.” I have 9 nieces and nephews and a lot of my friends’ kids that I am an Aunt to, so that keeps me busy.

If your life was a song, what would the title be?
“All I Do Is Win” by DJ Khaled (I am an Aries, so of course I am super competitive).

What’s your favorite holiday to celebrate?
Halloween

What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?
You can do anything you set your mind to; my grandparents always told me this when I was younger.

How did you get into construction technology?
I worked for CFMA for 4 years as their VP of Communications and IT; I met Bruce Orr when I was tasked with creating a D&I Task Force, and he agreed to participate. When I was looking for a new challenge in my career, the stars aligned, and I got the opportunity to work with him at ProNovos.

What is your favorite part of your job?
I love being able to help remove roadblocks and make it easier for the team to do their jobs.

Least favorite?
When my day is nothing but meetings.

July 10, 2023

What career advice would you give to your 18-year-old self?
You don’t have to be the best at everything.

Are you married?
Yes, in 2024 we will celebrate 10 years married and 20 years dating.

What energizes you at work?
Being creative or strategizing with others.

What have you learned about being a leader?
It is my job to help others succeed.

Where did you grow up at?
Fort Wayne, IN

Describe yourself in three words
Gets Sh*t Done

What is one thing you can’t live without?
My husband. From a personality perspective we are the complete opposites, but he grounds me.

What is something you can never over-invest in?
Sleep! I spent many years struggling with insomnia, and when you don’t invest enough time into getting a good night’s sleep, everything else will suffer.

What was your first job?
I had a newspaper route when I was in middle school.

What do you collect?
I collect Disney trading pins, magnets from all the places I have visited, and whiskey; I have nearly 500 bottles in my collection.
