What time did you wake up this morning?

I woke up at 5am. I have a love/hate relationship with getting up early.  I hate to get up early, but I love getting a jumpstart on the day. I’m also a big fan of routines.  I start my day with a little prayer and meditation and then I’m in the gym rocking out to something intense e.g. Drake, Lil Wayne or The White Stripes.

What’s your guilty pleasure?

Watching Ozark on Netflix and eating ice cream:)

Do you have children?

I have two great kids; a 16-year-old girl and a 7-month-old boy.  The 16-year-old makes me feel old and confused.  My 7-month-old thinks I’m the best and makes me feel like a rockstar!  The joys of parenthood:)

If your life was a song what would the title be?

“High Hopes” by Panic! At The Disco.

What are you reading right now?

I’m currently reading The Practice of Groundedness by Brad Stulberg. We’re all busy and life can feel overwhelming at times.  This is a great book for the go-getter that is trying to live up to  the demands of life while achieving internal peace.

What energizes you at work?

My team energizes me. They are awesome!  For most of my career, I had little influence on my work culture. When I founded this company, I was intentional about the culture that I wanted to create. The ProNovos team is made up of smart, caring, respectful, fun and hard working people.  They energize me and make me want to be the best servant-leader that I can be.

What have you learned about being a leader?

It’s okay not to have all of the answers. When you create an atmosphere that is centered around meritocracy, it fosters a group think and we get the wisdom of the crowd.

What do you do to unwind from work?

I meditate and then read a book.  I used to binge on Netflix , but I’ve found that I’m more focused the next day if I quiet my mind the night before.

What is one thing you have to have with you in meetings?

I need my notepad and pen to take notes.  I’m old school like that:)
